I am mad as hell because we have the best nurses in the world, doctors that are second to none, and superb technology, but the corporate insurance bureaucracy keeps us mired in red tape instead of doing what we do best: taking care of our patients.

I am a dentist in Canby and want to support your health care reform, I would hope that we also can change our system of dental insurance. We waste so much time with the profit centered insurance companies. Were tired of dealing with insurance workers in india and other countries trying to tell us how to treat our patients.
We also need a ban on the use of Amalgam which leads to long term damage to tooth structure. I see this damage on a daily basis and hope we can improve are minimum level of care and use resin based material to better protect our teeth from invasion of bacteria. I have so much clinical evidence that shows how damaging this material is.
A bill to ban Amalgam may be the best way to get dental treatment out of the 1800’s. A universal system with resin based fillings as a minimum would create long term savings to the new health care system. It would prevent so much damage and prevent larger restorative needs in the future . Remember that amalgam fillings are the number one cause of needing further serious treatment like a root canal or a full crown. Can you imagine how much we would save by eliminating the use of Amalgam.
Thanks for all your work, Don
